The Finesmelt™ Demonstration Unit (FDU), in Olifantsfontein, has been running successfully since 2007. The plant has provided information on final product, cost, and capacity and has substantially eroded any technology risk that may have existed. The plant has also achieved all design expectations and has provided important information with regards to materials of construction and operating procedures.
